FAQs
Q: Why are you asking questions about identity and income in the Membership Sign-Up Form?
A: People with disabilities, people with low or no incomes, people of color and queer people face a disproportionate risk of homelessness, housing instability, and a lack of access to affordable housing, but are often the ones left out of conversations and decision-making processes. We want to make sure our membership is as diverse as the needs of our communities. Information about identity, income, or status are only shared in aggregate form, and individual data is closely protected. Additionally, all questions on the Sign-Up Form are optional.
Q: What is the time commitment for being a member?
A: The amount of time that you spend advocating depends on two things: your capacity and the needs of any committee you are working with. Each committee will have different projects with different member activities, so it will be up to you to engage in ways that work for you.
