YIMBY stands for “Yes, In My Back Yard” and represents the movement our community needs to make towards embracing affordable housing.
What the YIMBY Committee Does
Joining Forces’ YIMBY Committee is seeking to accelerate affordability by creating campaigns and community activities that:
- Educate people on the benefits of affordable housing, not just for residents of that housing, but also for the community at large
- Counter mis-information that is sometimes spread by opponents of affordable housing
- Show up to show strong and vocal support for affordable housing measures
- Put pressure on decision-makers to make affordable housing a priority, not just in words, but in action.
