What is Lobby Day?
Every spring, Joining Forces for Affordable Housing hosts Lobby Day. Lobby Day is an event where we bring a group of advocates to the State Capitol to meet with legislators and advocate for important homelessness and housing bills. |

Preparing for Lobby Day
To prepare advocates, we host informational sessions to go over traveling logistics, review our agenda, and discuss the specific things that we are advocating for. To ensure that everyone knows what to do and feels comfortable, we also host workshops that explain how to effectively and efficiently talk to legislators.
We welcome new and experienced advocates to go to Springfield with us when we're recruiting for this event. Since people's personal experiences can be a powerful tool in advocacy, stories about people's lived experience and experience working with people facing homelessness make the greatest impact. However, we want to make sure that all voices are heard and advocates without this experience can still make a difference!
How to Get Involved for Lobby Day
Join us and make a real impact on the housing crisis in our state! Please reach out to Max Seeley at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Planning for Lobby Day starts in the spring, so our next Lobby Day will likely be in April 2025.
